Frequently Ask Questions...
Check out the list at the left for answers to the most commonly asked questions. Don't see what you're looking for? Just give me a call or email us. We want to make the process of ordering your team-building tools as easy as possible. We're always happy to take the time to walk you through the process!
After all, that's what a ministry partner does!
Where do I find templates?
Every card we produce is custom designed for your ministry, so we don't have templates per-se for you to choose from.
However, if you see a sample of something you like, you can always ask us to use that design as a guide.
You can be as specific or general as you like in your instructions. We receive everything from print-ready files to a list of information to include with the instructions to "make it look good!"
What size and format photo file?
We recommend sending a photo file that is untouched from your digital camera. Usually that means a JPG file. You can rename the file by right clicking on the icon and choosing the option to "rename". This is better than opening the file and using the "save as" function.
JPG files can vary greatly in their size depending on the image. A single person wearing a white shirt against a solid blue background will have a smaller file size than a group of 6 people wearing patterned clothing with an outdoor background. That being said, you will generally want a file that is at least 500 Kb. The more accurate way to describe the photo size is to look at the pixel count. A file close to 1200x1800 pixels should provide adquate resolution.
The easiest way to know you have a file large enough is to take the photo with at least a 4 Megapixel camera set at the highest resolution. Be sure when you send it, you don't resize it for faster sending.
Do you offer Graphic Design?
Yes, we do. In fact design is our specialty and Creative Plus would love to be your resource for Graphic Design. Our design work is in-house meaning we take an interest in providing you with quality custom work. We never farm our design work out, you can be assured that Creative Plus designers will be invested in designing for you.
Our basic setup / proof fee for Photocard and Postcard products is $30
Will I see a proof?
Yes! We always provide a proof of your design prior to printing.
Generally proofs are posted within 3 business days of receiving your order details. Display proofs will typically be ready in 5 business days.
Will it cost more to make changes to the proof?
Generally no.
If you decide after a proof is posted that you want to swap the photo or completely revise the layout you may be subject to additional charges. Our goal though is to avoid those extra little charges, so please help us by making all your changes at the same time when possible. Of course, if we missed your instructions and the proof is not what you requested, we never charge you to fix our mistake!
Can you work with our Graphic Designer?
Yes! We are always happy to work along side your designer.
When you provide print ready files that require no editing on our part, we will waive the $30 setup / proof fee.
To insure your file is prepared correctly, please allow us to send your designer the appropriate template for the final printing.
New Orders and Repeat Orders
Previous customers often wonder about this, especially when they're only needing to update information on their last card. Here's the general rule of thumb for determining if your order is a new or repeat order.
If you have a New photo or New layout you want to use, then your order would be considered a NEW order. If you are printing the exact same card as before with no text changes, that's easily a repeat order, even if the quantities are different.
The question comes when you want to use the same photo & layout, but you want text changes. We would price this as a repeat order with a new setup fee. If the amount of changes are very minor (ie. updating an email address) then we may not even charge the new setup fee.
What is the limit on wording?
The only real limit is sensibility. We don't have a word limit or character limit. However, you'll obviously have more room for text on a 4x6 card than a wallet card. (Generally if we can fit it on a 4x6, we can fit it on a 3.5x5)
As far as the size of the text, the smallest size we normally will use is an 8 pt san serif font such as Arial Narrow or Abadi. This is normally what we would use for addresses and other contact information.
I can't decide!!
We're always happy to weigh in on which photo to use.
We ask you to narrow it down to two or three options at the most. Tell us which order you prefer them in and what you like or don't like about each one. Often something you dislike about a photo can be fixed. Please do not send any photos that you really don't want to use. If you send us a picture we assume it's a possible option and when you are handing out your cards, you won't want to look at a photo you just aren't that thrilled about.
Generally we only post one proof for your card. If you really wish to see multiple layout options, we'll be happy to create them. Each option will incur the $30 setup fee.
Should I edit my photo?
Please do not edit your photo prior to sending it to us. If you really would like to edit the photo yourself, then please be sure to save an un-edited copy that you can send us as well.
You might ask why. Quite often the edits that are made by customers before they send in the photo are not as smooth as we could make them. Also, when the color, contrast and lighting are adjusted by the customer, we usually find that we are unable to produce a good quality print. The professional equipment and software we use is all calibarated to allow us to make those edits for you while maintaining the highest quality prints possible.
Sometimes taking more pictures just isn't going to help...
But we can!
Do you have my logo?
We may have a copy of your logo, or be able to procure a copy if it's availble online.
To ensure the best quality for you we suggest that you send us a copy of your logo.
The best file formats for sending logo files are AI, SVG, EPS and PDF.These vector formats allow us to size the logo as needed without loosing quality and there is no white background behind the logo image. We may also accept a high resolution PNG.
